I am first and foremost a project manager and writer, but I have many strings to my bow that can help you and your business get ahead. I have a varied and transferable skill set and have managed projects throughout my career.
I hold a Masters of Science in Global Development Management from the Open University and a Diploma in Advanced Journalism from the London School of Journalism. Most recently I have been working with two London based organisations running European Union funded projects sending interns on work experience placements in Spain, Italy and the Czech Republic as well as doing ad hoc freelance writing.
Other work I have done in the non-profit sector includes living and working with the Pondo tribe on the Wild Coast of South Africa to help secure their human rights in the face of potentially devastating mining. After that I spent a year with an NGO in Geneva, training journalists from all around the world to enhance their reporting skills in areas such as climate change, human rights and peace building. For a while I also did pro-bono communications work for a small UK based charity for Nepali street children.
Before all of that I lived and breathed event management for eight years, both in a corporate context and hospitality. I still love organising a great event! To add to my skills in this area I have recently completed a tutor qualification in adult education, so facilitating and teaching workshops is a now a new string to my bow.
If you would like to explore working with me I would be delighted to hear from you to discuss your needs and how I can help you. I am flexible and dedicated and my rates are negotiable, depending on the scope and angle of the project.
You can reach me at katrine.carstens (at) gmail.com. If you prefer to speak on the phone, please email me with your number and a good time call and I will get back to you.
